what are your strengths or what do you like about yourself?

After seeing the old thread where we're asked to expose our weaknesses, here I go wanting to turn things around. So, what would you say are things you like about yourself or things you consider strengths? Sometimes, a strength can be seen as a weakness perhaps, or perhaps it is a double-edged sword. For example, one of my strengths is that I have no fear of saying things others dare not say, not in a mean way or to be vicious or sadistic, but because I think many people are too timid or afraid of the criticisms of strangers. This could potentially get me introuble because these days it seems nobody likes you unless your'e wishy-washy or just go along to get along. I am also emotionally even-keeled, so I'm not prone to being easily upset or offended by much or to drama in general. The problem with that strength is sometimes it is hard for me to empathize with what some people go through. Although I can't claim total perfection, I do my best not to sit in high holy judgment of people, unless you are an asshole and just deserve it. Hahahaha! Oh, and I'd say I'm pretty happy with my particular sense of humor. I also have what I think is a very musical ear, despite I'm lacking in any real talent to play an instrument. Overall, I'm just happy in my own skin and proud to be a square peg. So what about you guys? Oh, and if you don't think you have anything good to say about yourself, why do you believe this and who are you comparing yourself to so as to make it so impossible to find the good in yourself?

Hmmm, my strengths. Well, Unless I'm dealing with paperwork lingo of a lawyer or math, I consider myself to be decently intelligent. I am a good friend, and I do have a lot of empathy for others. I'm not as open and outspoken as I'd like to be, but I'm working on it, and I do see signs of improvement.

First of all, I wanted to compiment Godzilla-on-Toast for coming up with such a positive topic. You always seem to want to bring out the optimistic side of life. We need more of that in this crazy place we cal the world. Well, on to my strengths.
Some of these could be either strengths or weaknesses:
1. Creativity
2. Love for children
3. Special talent with words; good writer
4. Good ear for music; though I'm also not a player of it, I do love it and enjoy finding meaning and common bonds to myself in every song I hear
5. I love to have a good time
6. I am empathetic and perceptive
7. I try to find the beauty in everything
8. I love nature and animals
9. I love peace and harmony
10. I always try to find something to smile about

Thanks for the compliment. I guess despite my cynical nature, I'd rather believe foolishly in hope instead of just curling up in a ball and waiting around for my ultimate doom and destruction. I think it's easy to find fault in yourself and others, even if you have to make it up and even if you don't know the other person. Since people are mostly lazy, they go for what's easiest and not what's best for their own sanity. That's how I see things, at least.

First, I agree with post three. You're posts are always so thought provoking. I think my greatest strength is my patience with people. It can sometimes be that double-edged sword you referenced earlier, in that, I don't always know when to give up on people. I've actually gotten better at setting limmits over the years. I used to visualize myself as a child with a measuring cup trying to bail watter out of the Titanic. I also try to be long-term thinking when it comes to making decisions.

Great topic
strengths
1 that I am an egoist. Yes, I am very proud of that aspect of me.
2 that I can understand philosophy, well, when I am not compared to people like Ayn Rand or Aristotle, that is.
3 I pick up on new things really quick.
4 I want to learn, and I am an overachiever (that’s also bad, as it stresses me out, as I want to do everything, which I understand isn’t possible)
4 that I am an individual
5 that I am a capitalist
6 that I look up to elitist and want to succeed.
There is more, but now I am starting to get a headache. I think I need sleep.

I am proud of my entire personality. But my most favorite characteristics of mine are:
1. my writing ability
2. my nerdiness
3. my love for language arts
4. my intelligence
5. my high self esteem
6. my typing skills
7. and my sense of humor.
My intelligence and sense of humor get me in trouble much. But I don't really see it as my problem.
Also, I too, am not easily upset. I love! that about me.
